Ingredients for making Pitaya Caipirinha:
1 pitaya (pink or white)
1 lemon
100 milliliters of cachaça (2 doses)
4 tablespoons of sugar
ice to taste
How to make Caipirinha de pitaya:
To make this pitaya caipirinha, start by cutting the pitaya fruit in half and removing the pulp with the help of a spoon. Divide the pitaya pulp into 2 glasses, in which you will prepare the caipirinha.
Tip: you can prepare this fruit caipirinha with pink or white pulp pitaya, the difference is that pink pitaya contains more antioxidants.
Wash the lemon, cut it into 4 or 6 parts and divide it between the 2 glasses of the caipirinha. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar to each cup and macerate well, that is, mash the pitaya with lemon and sugar to extract the juices.
Then add 50 ml of cachaça to each cup and mix. Top up with ice to taste.
Tip: if you want, you can pass the pitaya caipirinha with a sieve, in order to filter the fruit seeds and lemon pieces. Another option for a pitaya drink is to substitute vodka for cachaça.
